custom theme

Im trying to edit one of the default themes, (uni-1.90.0.1563\css)

Just changing the .css file leads to nothing, whats the proper way to customize those themes?

Perhaps you had a case with the cache, you need to clear the cache. Although it is not recommended to change the contents of the files manually.

what i do is copy "uni-xtheme-neptune.css" for example, then rename it to "uni-xtheme-nepnew.css" and try to load that, it then looks like the classic theme..

What would be the way to go to create a custom theme, or just change some properties for the existing ones?

At the moment uniGUI does not provide any utility for this. You can try using CustomCSS for example.
