Linux VPSs are not that cheap. Porting to FPC/Lazarus is a non-trival job so don't expect it very soon. You have another option which is is win32 + WINE under Linux. Thanks .
  3. Message from: "Marc" Thank you Farshad. I will be looking for your advances and I expect to license UniGUI when finished (if price is adequate). Your beta is already impressive, and to meet my needs you only have to finish visual inheritance and add a few more standar datacontrols (like dblookupcombobox, ...) If you ever have the option to make UniGUI ready to compile for Apache Linux modules, please do it, because it seems that Linux VPS are a far more cheap option (my hosting provider has them availables since $7-month) http://translate.google.es/translate?js=n&prev=_t&hl=ca&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amen.es%2Fstatic%2Fservidor_privado_linux.html

Message from: "Marc" Hello. Congratulations for your awesome work. I have been using Intraweb (VCL for the Web), but it's crap (low refresh, ugly controls, ...) your UniGUI seems much, much better. My main concern is about hosting. ¿ Do you know any commercial hosting where you can host isapi modules ? (my actual hosting told me that I have to take a Windows Virtual Private Server, and thats an expensive option $50-month)

You will be able to call it like this: TUniDBEdit(Controls).DataSource := dsSomeDS; Which will work in both VCL and Web sessions. .

I need to assign dinamically DataSource property to UniDB components, but in Web Browser session TUniDBEdit is knowed as TUniExtDBEdit, that is not possible to cast to. Ej.: TUniExtDBEdit(Controls).DataSource := dsSomeDS; Regards. -- .

You could make your server to generate a file on the server, then your clients check this file. The file contains a list of client that have a need to request the server for message. Normally it can't be possible to make a server push due of kind of communication between web clients and the server in a Web protocol. Regards -- .

  15. Message from: "Jason Reid" Hi Oscar I'm doing a very similar thing, but I've used mainform as my main form and I'm doing fLogin.ShowModal on the onShow event of the mainform. I have a Login form, if they is successfully, must show Main Menu Form. In this case frmLogin is not needed anymore. If I close it. The application closes to. I'm do MainForm.Show inside the Accept.OnClick button of frmLogin form and on the OnShow of MainForm i'm acctually hide Login form, but want to close it. I want to close Login form without close entire application. As Login form is my first form they are registered as the main form. Regards -- .

    Unicode characters

Message from: "Farshad Mohajeri" "Pierros" >I use Delphi 2009, i change the charset property of the font for the >control but this doesn't seem to make any difference... Thanks. Unicode integration is partially tested. Indy version shipped with D2009 has unicode related problems. I haven't look at it yet. But it seems currently only under D2010 uniGUI can display unicode chars. .

    Server push

Message from: "Jason Reid" Hi All How could I implement server-push ? Take for example a simple multi-user chat. I want the server to update all connected clients when one client updates the chat. I could do this with a timer, but this is not very efficient as it would generate traffic for all clients every time the timer fires. Any ideas ? -- Jason Reid Systems Developer Compucorp Ltd. www.compucorp.co.uk .
