jahlxx Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 hi. what is better in performance? an vcl app (delphi c/s traditional) accesed by terminar server or an unigui application? what do toy think about this? your opinions will be wellcome. thanks. Quote
ldb68 Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 They are totally different solutions. Terminal server should be faster (I remember it was also optimized for slow connections) but requires a paid license for each client. A client program must be installed on each machine that accesses the server and I do not think Andorid and iOS are supported. The usege on a smartphone or tablet may be very difficult. A UNIGUI application is basically a web page + ajax and then is cross-platform by definition (Crhome, Firefox, Safari, IExplorer ...). No paid license for each client. On a slow connection it can perform poorly if the page is complex. You can create very user friendly app for smartphones and tablets (Sencha Touch) ... Quote
jahlxx Posted May 5, 2016 Author Posted May 5, 2016 OK. I know that are different platforms. I have to decide if is a good idea, migrate my desktop apps to unigui. Now, the users access to the apps with a terminal server in the cloud, and I need to determine if is a good idea to migrate the apps. Quote
rgreat Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 If you need a fast way to publish your windows applications on web, you can try this: http://www.cybelesoft.com/thinfinity/virtualui/ That solution is in some ways better then simple remote desktop, imho. But in the long run building dedicated web application with UniGui would be a better solution. Quote
