micbasov Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Hi Farhad! When can we expect the ability to edit in the grid? (Options -> dgEditing = true). Our project was very moved after the release of 0.87, and now we expect to expand the functional UniGui. Thanks for your great work!

micbasov Posted November 18, 2011 Author Posted November 18, 2011 You can edit DBGrid since version 0.70.0. Is it possible to implement the simplest version of the edit field type Text, Number, Float in the near future?
thecrgrt Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 You can edit DBGrid since version 0.70.0. For me add custom edit controls (DropDownList, CheckBox, etc.) to Grid seems to be usefull.

dionel1969 Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 For me add custom edit controls (DropDownList, CheckBox, etc.) to Grid seems to be usefull. Like others in this forum, I use grid all the time. For me grid and dbgrid are the components with the major importance. People works with a list of things, list of products, list of invoices, list of tickets, etc... and I use in the 85% of times grid to represent those datas. So, I will vote in favor of the grids when necessary. Then, any effort in this field will be very good and will welcome. PS: Not only works with the fields entry and summary too. But I think it will better if the summary will be an independent component associated with grid. The works around TUNIGridFooter could be do better.
imagina Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 I agree. Improvements in specializated editors is crucial, but IMHO is more important the usability, still there are a big distance between VCL and web for end users (moving, appending, etc). For my purposes, the Grid/DbGrid is still the Achilles' heel in UniGui; a great work, but still not perfect. J. Like others in this forum, I use grid all the time.
