Hi

How development proceeds?

There are extensions to the various components that need to be added (checbox and combobox in grids, more option in grid, retractable panels, contextual menus, etc..) to make attractive web application.

I saw that Radus (see demo at http://www.raudus.com/samples/) that I tested in the past (but I don't love as uniGui) has these extension in earliest versions.

thanks

Visual and functional enhancements are given lower priority. It is because you can always achieve same functionality using other components or some workarounds. I think after version 0.90 we can start working on visual stuff.

To be honest while many new features have been added lately I'm not quite happy with development speed. We expected to have 1.0 release by June and we're behind schedule. Again, I'm glad that we could achieve two difficult goals: Core change in 0.85 & Client Side Events in 0.86.

The truth is that at a certain point we need to stop adding more features and release a stable 1.0 release. Otherwise there will be no version 2.0 because everything is already included in 1.0 :)

I agree. Priority for a stable 1.0 release.

thanks

So what do you think is missing before a 1.0 release?

Planned features to be included in 1.0:

-SSL support

-More features in uniDBGrid

-Fixing many of currently logged issues

-Scalability and stability issues

-Some new components ( Button with menu, UniShape, etc. )

-Improved Treeview with checkboxes

Also I will start a survey and ask developers about features they want in 1.0.

Ok, thanks. I didn't test it yet and seemed to remember reading somewhere that it didn't work. Very nice.

For me personally, I'd like a few more DBGrid features as well, like cell editors and events for mouse and keystrokes (if possible). But essentially for my current project I can get by with what is in the framework now.

The GUI tools support my needs for the most part. I also agree that scalability and stability issues along with security are most important for 1.0, IMHO. I've working on porting several apps to uniGUI, so far with very good results.
