Guest
Message from: "Jason Reid" Hi All How could I implement server-push ? Take for example a simple multi-user chat. I want the server to update all connected clients when one client updates the chat. I could do this with a timer, but this is not very efficient as it would generate traffic for all clients every time the timer fires. Any ideas ? -- Jason Reid Systems Developer Compucorp Ltd. www.compucorp.co.uk .

You could make your server to generate a file on the server, then your clients check this file. The file contains a list of client that have a need to request the server for message. Normally it can't be possible to make a server push due of kind of communication between web clients and the server in a Web protocol. Regards -- .
