Firebird is :

- Very powerfull

- Very easy to understand

- But Not rudimentary

- In the forefront of technology

- So that some Db editors were inspired by its features.

One of its great advantages is its 100% free deployment.

Hi, rencarnacion

Here in our country (DR), we use firebird since version 1, and we had application from big company to small, and is working without any problem, we use it for application in: Wharehose (WMS), TimeAttendace, Customers (DGA), Visitors sign up, Events (big events), and Account (ERP). Firebird is for us a robust database.

Is still SYSDBA's password saved in "security.fdb" ? I mean, change sysdba password any then create db with this user & password. Then copy db to another pc or reinstall firebird. Try connect with masterkey, Is it still NOT change system ?

If you can copy an entire db you have more then a known sysdba-masterkey-problem.B)

NB: Using fb since V1 in 1997.

What do you use for database administration with Firebird? I tried RedExpert and FlameRobin and the experiences are rather underwhelming! RedExpert's interface is rather old-fashioned and not particularly user-friendly while FlameRobin crashes a lot.

It has a personel edition, and its free. I was told theme, change compoent sets to tms and build to crossplatform, they answered, our customer useto..!!!  ( german :) view )

https://www.texteditor.pro/firebird/index.php?page=overview

this is simple easy and free another tool. If I'm not wrong, no need to install, it can use portable.

Thanks for the link.

I tried Firebird Editor Pro but the whole program closed after it displayed a message that the Firebird database and Firebird client DLL were invalid. Both database and client DLL were used successfully with Ibexpert.

I'm not used, but after your message I did small test :) I think your problem conflict firebird dll with, embeded dll. I add connection and clone it, I didn't see any error.

ibexpert use under "Ibeudb" folder, if I'm not wrong embeded firebird 2.5.x release.

Both program can configure for each connecton different dll realese. This mean, firebird 1x installed server on your os, but you can connect to fb 3x db via embeded dll.

Ibexpert is so detail 'cos seen before firebird when its name interbase. but still just 32bit application, and only for win.

texteditor pro is x64 and so simple, extract and use it. but horrible thing is start with dark theme, and I can not see anythink :)
