If they were going to consider any other widget set I would have thought

QooxDoo would be the best candidate.

But the ExtJS licencing isn't too expensive.

As a result of some instability issues in current news server I have to =

Hopefully, tomorrow all posts will be moved and we will be able to =

continue discussions in new web forum.

    Mr. Farshad:

Because our network configuration, I can't upgrade my Delphi XE to the last

    update.

Can you release a versión for people that have the first released version of

    Delphi XE?

The actual release of UniGui doest not compile the packages that contains

UniGui extra controls. Because Teechart units I think.

I suffer many of DBExpress related buggies. I found workarrounds for many of

them. I don't send example programas to Farshad to solve to because I'm

expecting the new core to be ready that can obviusly have many new bugs but

    corrections to actual problems implied.

Currently uniGUI component library is being redesigned for new core in =

0.85.0. Converting some of the components are taking longer than =

expected. Especially those with sub-childs such as PageControl, ToolBar, =

    DBGrid ans etc.=20

I'm expecting one or two weeks from now until conversion is fully =

completed. Until then I may not appear much in newsgroups and your posts =

may remain unanswered. All posts are marked and eventually will be =

All these changes are done for sake of extensibility and scalability =

The problem is with the way Ext JS wraps DOM elements.

Issue is already logged as #674 and I'll look at it again.

I will post here as soon as I can find a resolution for this problem.

    Thanks

until now we can work fine and with only little problems with the

unigui-Framework to set up our first mainstream project for the web. We

could find some workaraounds for the problems.

There is only one problem that we cannot solve by ourselves: the

font-property in the treeview-control does not work on web. It shows

only the browser's standard font and colour. This is especially poor,

because we want to use a treeview as an outstanding feature in the

    welcome-page of our frontend-webapplication.

Could you make it possible to implement the web font-property within

the next few weeks? We want to go into production with this

    applicaction in may/june 2011.

    Best regards

    Hi,

I don't have much experience with Adobe Flex. The major difference is that

Flex needs Flash runtime environment. Ext JS and uniGUI don't need any form

of runtime on client side. uniGUI is based on Javascript which is natively

available on all platforms and browsers.

Great news, the customization of visual controls is one of the Delphi

essences (others ones are runtime creation and RTTI).

    Good job

I'm aware that while VCL part is important for some developers, some others

simply don't need it. I'm in first group, who will use both VCL and Web in

parallel in my own projects. That was the main motivation behind uniGUI

project; to create a single source base for both Desktop and Web apps.

Good news is that version 0.85.0 will improve both sides, web and vcl. It

will not throw out the VCL part in any sense. New core will make VCL part

completely pluggable / unpluggable. You can take an exisiting uniGUI control

create a descendant of it and replace its VCL implementation by writing one

    page of code.

For example, if you're not happy with standard VCL Button you can unplug it

and plug a 3rd party shiny glossy button. Let me emphasis that we will

always need the VCL part as it is needed at design time to visually interact

    with the components.

    > I tell you this because if you decide to remove all VCL

    > side of components to simplify the development, I will

    >

In this new core, VCL part will have no negative impact on web

implementation. Well, it adds some overhead to the implementation details,

but it will not overshadow the web side in any sense. Both web and vcl

components can grow vertically and independent of each other. You will only

need to maintain the bridge between them.
